Giulia 105 Register

Registro Ricambio

Classic Alfa Goodwood Track Day

To quote Richard Norris, Classic Alfa’s proprietor, the day was ‘a resounding success for the company'.

The atmosphere around the track and in the pits was terrific and the new 10-car format proved very popular - resulting in so much track time (9 or 10 sessions for every driver) that some people went home by 4pm exhausted!

Everyone drove really well & respected each other’s cars and the Goodwood staff were really helpful.

Thanks to everyone who came for making it such a wonderful day and keep an eye on the website www.classicalfa.com

I was however disappointed so few 105 Register members came along to what was out first gathering of the year.

As requested, I had taken all the Register files along in the boot of my Super but not one person asked to view them.

At one point it was just Des Clare’s yellow Giulia and my own red example holding the fort. I do hope for better things at National Alfa Day!

National Alfa Day

I hope to see many of you at Weston Park on Sunday 24th June. If all things go to plan we will have a large parking area for those 105 owners who pre-booked their entry tickets and certainly an increase on the restricted rows we had to work with at Boughton House. If possible I will try to separate the three basic Giulia models (saloons, Bertone coupes and Spiders) so you can compare car with car and make your comparisons, something we have been unable to do at previous Alfa Days in the recent past.

Cotswold Alfa Day

Don’t forget, the Register will be supporting Cotswold Alfa Day on 8th July at Upton House near Banbury. This will be our main gathering of 2007 at this 17th century mansion which is situated on the A422, about seven miles north-west of Banbury.

I understand the plan of the day is to join a run from the Puesdown Inn on the A40 approximately eight miles from Cheltenham, which will start between 10 and 11 am. From there you will be able to drive a scenic route which will also include an observational quiz. On arrival at Upton, the 105’s will be given pride of place along the main drive where members of the public will be able to view your cars.

If you do not wish to take part in the run, the gates open from 11 am where the National Trust have kindly agreed to allow anyone arriving in an Alfa (including passengers) entry for just £4 per person.

There is a restaurant at Upton where lunches are served from 12 noon until 2 pm. You are welcome to bring a picnic but barbecues are not allowed.

Regretfully, due to work commitments, I will be unable to attend what promises to be another great Cotswold Alfa Day but I am sure Register members will give the event their fullest support.
