On Sunday 30th August we are having our Summer Picnic/ BBQ at Friston Forest within the picturesque South Downs. Friston Forest is very close to the Seven Sister Country Park offering many walking and mountain biking trails.
We have a BBQ station booked which is available to us all day. We will be meeting and firing up the barbie at around noon.
The BBQ area is to the northern edge of the car park at Friston Forest. The forest car park is found by travelling north from Seven Sisters Country Park towards Littlington. The first car park is Littlington Road, pass by this one and take the turning into the car park marked Friston Forest on the left hand side travelling north.
If coming from further north, the forest can be found heading for Drusillas Zoo between Polegate and Lewes.
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN FOOD. You will be welcome to either cook the food yourself, or someone else can cook it for you should you wish. The club will provide plates, plastic cutlery, salad, coleslaw, and soft drinks. Any additional food, be it of the picnic variety or BBQ, (needing to be cooked)buns for burgers/ hot dogs etc. will be your responsibility.
We will have the club marquee and an additional pop up marquee just in case the weather isnt fabulous.
PLEASE also bring either a picnic rug or chairs to sit on as the BBQ station only has a small table adjacent and we will use that for food etc.
The car park is pay and display - current charges are £2.30 up to 2 hrs /£3.50 up to 4 hrs /£4.60 all day.
Please let Simon Novis (firstname.lastname@example.org) know before Friday 28th July if you are attending and how many guests you plan to bring with you. This event is open to partners, children etc. This will ensure that we have sufficient BBQ charcoal, salad, soft drinks etc. to go around. Also, please let Simon know if you will be bringing BBQ food or picnic food.
After the picnic we will be walking to the rockpools and brine lagoon within the Seven Sisters Country park which is closeby. Clearly this activity will be weather dependent.
