 AROC announces the Alfa Romeo Owners Club Racing Challenge for 2012

AROC announces the Alfa Romeo Owners Club Racing Challenge for 2012. The series is run in conjunction with the Classic Touring Car Racing Club and AROC drivers are invited to compete in all categories, especially Category B for Post-Classic Alfa Romeos and Category C for Alfa Thunder Cars.

Firstly, I would like to express my thanks again to all of you who came along to a very wet and windy Spring Alfa Day.

The Cotswolds Section are organising Cotswolds Alfa Day and Giro Panoramico & visit to Sudeley Castle, Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, on Sunday 24th June. I am sure the conditions will be more in line with the drought we are in by then.

Ken Carrington was on hand at the Brooklands Double Twelve Media Day at Brooklands to get the cover photo of Neil Twyman in his Alfa Romeo 8C launching up the hill in brilliant sunshine.

 Guest Alfa Romeo in Willenhall Wolverhampton are holding an open morning for AROC members on Saturday 16th June 0900-1300 hrs.

Club members can take advantage of their free car wash, BBQ, meet/chat with an Alfa Romeo Zone Manager and chat with their technicians. There will also be some special offers from their parts and accessories department.

Although the Classic Series is to be run over four events starting at Silverstone in May, the first event to which AROC entrants are invited is at Snetterton on Easter Sunday, April 8th, 2012.

All registered AROC entrants can compete, but those in Categories B & C are specifically invited. 

AROC again turned up at Race Retro this year in conjunction with the Classic Touring Car Racing Club.

Roz Shaw’s stunning Alfa Romeo GTAm shared the stand with our friends from the Classic Touring Car Racing Club who featured Mark Lucock’s immaculate Autoglym Post Historic Touring Car Championship Ford Escort Mk 1. Many thanks to both of them for the loan of their cars and for giving up so much of their time.
