AGM and Quiz

15th February 2006

The February meeting hosted our first AGM, Mark Grimshaw welcomed all the attendees and apologies were received from Paul Morris who has now stood down from the committee.

First business was the election of officers, it had been decided that the term of office would be two years and the current committee were all happy to stand for the second year.

Matthew gave a short report on the state of our finances and there was a short discussion about whether or not to start collecting Section Fees, the consensus was that we did not need to at this time.

Richard gave a round up of the currently planned events and there was discussion about venues and subjects for further events.  The website, Section Newsletter and Richard's monthly email will keep everyone informed.  We have a full program of events for the year and hope to build on the successes of last year.

John Raper proposed a vote of thanks for the committee for resurrecting the section.

There was no further business so we moved on to the highlight of the evening - The Quiz
