Section Meeting at 8pm on Thursday 17th April - What's It Worth? We were pleased to be joined by two members from the Bristol & West section, Chairman Mark Bennett and Secretary Martin King. The agenda for the meeting included a briefing of Marshals for the Bristol Italian Auto Moto Festival but first we held our What's It Worth? competition: The advertisements of Alfas for sale in recent AROC publications and on the Pistonheads website were reproduced and the contestants had to chose the correct asking price from a selection of three possible prices for each car. An added dimension was the contestants also had to guess the online 'Parkers Guide' valuation. After much head scratching and pen chewing, the prize winners were Tom Tottle and Andy Neville who tied for first place with newcomer Andy Charlton only just slipping behind into third place.
Heads down - Blimey is that all it's worth?
The winners - Tom, Andy and …Andy!Section Meeting on Thursday 20th March - AGM and QuizMany thanks to all of you who attended for our AGM. It was gratifying to see such a high level of support. Your committee for the next year will be Chairman - Martin Broadribb, Secretary/Treasurer - Paul Hanmore and Event Coordinators Peter & Geraldine Woodhams. All were elected unanimously. The section accounts had been audited by Peter & Geraldine and found to be in good order. We all gave a vote of thanks to Lynn Blake, our outgoing Event Coordinator, for her sterling work on our behalf. We then turned to the more stimulating matter of The Quiz! Once again, many thanks to Martin for formulating a range of intriguing questions, which had us all scratching our heads. The winner was David Gibbins, followed by Andy Bowden and Andy Neville.
The Quizzical Andy Neville, Andy Bowden and David GibbinsSaturday 8th March - Skittles TournamentMany thanks go to Peter & Geraldine for organising this event, at The Salutation Inn at Ham, near Berkeley. The competition was closely fought and a wide range of skills levels became evident. The highest score was by Pat Goodall followed by David Gibbins and James Woodhams. A buffet had been organised and we all dined sumptuously while sampling The Salutation's home brewed beer and cider. The new management of the inn were clearly out to impress with their friendly welcome and delicious comestibles - and they did!
