HELLO, GOODWOOD SECTION MEMBERS.
Sorry for the rather lengthy silence - I see my last communication was about the Bangers and Mash which was ages ago!
Important News from Bill Smith, our main man on all electronic communication matters: our website URL and e-mail address have had to be changed. You can now reach the website via http://www.aroc-uk.com/goodwood/

News And Events
Just to recap all the fun and games we've had since the April/May Newsletter;
- there was a very good turnout for the visit to the Tangmere Museum and picnic lunch (May 18th). It's a fascinating place, staffed by very knowledgeable and good-humoured volunteers, and we all also enjoyed a splendid picnic. It was a lovely surprise to be able to welcome Sue Smith back from Australia to these shores.
-the National Concourse up in the midlands on June 1st was a very buzzing occasion, and it was interesting to have the chance to look at other Italian marques as well as lots of lovely Alfas. There was the added entertainment of having the Top Gear team around, doing their stuff!
-a small but stalwart party got together for the Boat Trip around Chichester Harbour on June 21st, when the dreary evening magically improved for a couple of hours, just for us. Ian Vosper kindly supplied this photo for us:
-Twelve brave souls honed their driving skills at the Skid Pan on an unseasonably chill evening up at Goodwood (June 26th). Thanks to Derek Preston for his help in organising this.
-July 17th saw a good crowd filling up with delicious Bangers and Mash at The Good Intent in Petersfield. Thanks to Keith for a re-run of this, one of the favourite events in our programme.
Dates for your Diary
Thursday Sept 4th - another chance to visit Jim Stokes' premises in Waterlooville and see some of the wonderful cars which he's currently working on. Please e-mail Keith Goffe at keith.goffe@ntlworld.com or phone him on 01730 264495 to let him know if you'd like to join this party - it's only polite to let Jim know how many to expect.
Sunday Oct 19th - lunch at Il Palio, smashing Italian restaurant in Brockenhurst. Could I ask you to just let me know by e-mail soonish if you plan to come (I've promised Vito I'll try to get an idea of numbers fairly soon). In addition, there is a booking form at the foot of this e-mail. I'd like it back, with your deposit please, no later than October 5th.
Sunday December 14th - Christmas Lunch at The White Horse - the booking form for this will appear a little nearer the time!
Some nice pics from Chatham & of Meridian's 8C
Ian Vosper kindly sent a batch of pictures through to me a while ago and they're so good I thought you might like to see some of them, even though the Chatham Spring Alfa Day was some months ago (click thumbnails for larger images).
Some news from national AROC
Sally Langley from the Alfa Romeo Owner's Club has sent out to the sections a link to the Institute for Advanced Motorists newsletter, and here it is for you:
