The Historic Dockyard, Chatham

More than 1,500 Alfa Romeo owners and enthusiasts are expected to descend on the Historic Dockyard Chatham on Sunday 13 April as the venue plays host to the Alfa Romeo Owners Club season opening event of 2008.

A fun day out for Alfa and car fans alike, Spring Alfa Day will see iconic and evocative examples from the past 60 years on display. A real opportunity to see the changing style and sophistication of the Alfa Romeo marque of the years, in one place. Supported by a number of trade and private stands offering parts, accessories, miniatures, literature and models, the event is not to be missed any true Alfa fan!

So much to see and do

The Historic Dockyard Chatham is a great place to visit. Set in an 80-acre estate with stunning historic architecture, historic ships and museum galleries, the site offers a unique and rewarding visitor experience that will excite, educate and entertain you - whatever your age! Discover over 400 years of Britain's maritime history as you explore the world's most complete dockyard of the Age of Sail. The Dockyard is also home to the Kent Police and the Royal Navy Auxiliary Service (RNXS) museums and Britain’s last coal-fired paddle steamer, the Kingswear Castle. We are hoping the vessel will be ‘in steam’ during our visit and available for mini-cruises on the River Medway during the day. One of Kent's top tourist attractions, The Historic Dockyard Chatham is easy to find. Well sign-posted from the M25/A2/M2/M20 and with plenty of car parking.

Refreshments

Enjoy tasty hot or cold meals, sweet or savoury snacks, a selection of hot or cold beverages or just an ice cream from one of the catering outlets on site. You may wish to bring your own picnic with you to enjoy in the quiet and secluded Commissioner’s House Garden or on one of the other grass areas within the site. Picnic tables are located next to the outdoor children’s play area and an indoor picnic area is also available adjacent to the Ropery, in case of poor weather.

Event Sponsors - Northgate Alfa Romeo

The recently refurbished, Alfa Romeo main dealer, Northgate in Canterbury, will ensure the event includes an added dimension in the shape of the brand new, limited edition Alfa 147 Collezione. Examples of the award winning Brera, Spider and 159 will also be on display.
