Due to a poor response, the Events Team has made the sad decision to cancel 'AROC Live' at MoD Woodbridge on Sunday 31st August 2008. The Suffolk Tour and evening BBQ on the preceeding will still go ahead with an additional leisure/driving activity on Sunday. Bookings can be made here on-line. On Sunday 31st August, we are organising an exciting new event - AROC Live. This will be an all-action day for the whole family and very much geared towards those members who have requested an event where they can drive their own cars and see others in action. Working in association with Javelin Trackdays at MoD Woodbridge in Suffolk, the full and varied programme will include circuit time with free instruction and hot laps, timed sprints and a large number of complementary attractions. Novices will be actively encouraged to participate in all the activities. Primarily AROC Live will be an event for ALL and we will help you enjoy your Alfa like never before!

Javelin Trackday’s policy is simple - to organise no nonsense driving days and afford you the opportunity to explore the on-track abilities of both you and your Alfa in a fun, friendly, safety conscious and non-elitist environment. At a Javelin event, Supercars are not essential, just a sensible attitude and a love of driving YOUR car.

AROC Live will offer a total of six hours of great value track time. There will be a maximum of seventeen cars on-track at any one time with three twenty minute sessions per hour including the necessary convoy sighting and familiarisation laps.

The fee for two twenty-minute sessions is just £49.00, six sessions/two hours of track time, only £99.00.
 

In addition to the main track activity, the following exciting attractions (subject to final confirmation) will be available throughout the day:

• Specialist Demonstrations
• Rally Stage – sit alongside experienced rally drivers*
• Hot Laps given by ARDS (Association of Racing Drivers Schools) qualified instructors and race drivers*
• Bouncy Castle & Inflatables
• 1/8 mile Drag Strip Competition*
• Performance & Tuning Clinic with Rolling Road
• Twisty Sprint Gymkhana Driving Test*
• Reverse Steer Car*
• Drive an Articulated LGV*
• Car + trailer reversing competition*
• BSM Dual Control Learner Driver Cars - for use of children of sufficient age to have the intelligence to understand the instructions that may be given and size to reach the necessary controls OR non-driving adults*
• Skid Control Car
• Catering & refreshments
• Saturday Road Run with evening Barbeque at a beautiful local riverside hostelry*

*    Pay-on-the-day

For non-booked track cars there will be a £5.00 entry fee on-the-day. An advance entry booking form will be enclosed with the June AROC magazine.
 
The local main Alfa Romeo dealer will have a full selection of new and used cars on display and for demonstration. Although AROC Live is not primarily intended to be a park up and picnic event, provision will be made for those members who may wish to do so. All AROC Registers will be encouraged to organise their own display of model parking.
