The Fox Run - into the Peak District
18 October 2020

Photos by John Griffiths and Alex Black - some in car ones by other participants including Jason Hood and Lorraine Cox

C-19 wasn’t going to defeat our traditional autumnal Fox Run! 35 Alfas gathered at the Trowel Services for a 50+ mile meander into the Peak District on a route designed by James Fernley.  We were joined by some pals from the North and West Midlands for this one too and the collection of Alfas as you can see from the photos was terrific too. Including 4 4Cs, 3 Berlinas, 2 Bertone Coupes, 3 147s and a host of others old an new.
Great to see a number of new faces along too and people like Richard Jenkinson (Stelvio QF) and Graham and Gillian Whiteside (4C) in cars new to them as well.  Carol Corliss who runs AROC’s Pre-War register joined us too in her Giulietta.
From our start at the Trowel Services, the run took us through Ilkeston and Belper, past Carsington Water to Monyash and then arriving at the huge open car park at Matlock, where people could then enoythe delights of the town, all observing Covid distancing etc.
it was a very enjoyable run indeed in fine if overcast weather, great to buzz along in convoy, that did get split at times of course.  Lovely to see the positive reaction of people as we drove along in such a variety of great-sounding - and looking - cars.  Thanks as ever to all who took part.
