Our February 2018 magazine is full and includes an outstanding range of articles from Club members. Jon Dooley writes of Geoff Gordon’s racing Alfasud Sprint Veloce, Richard Murtha of motorsport late last year and preparing for this year, and Clive Baker of the Carrera Panamericana, Mexico’s answer to the Mille Miglia in the 1950s. Bernard Lien Lambert belongs to AROC USA as well as AROC UK and tells his tale of buying a Duetto and how the Club does things over there – their Christmas party sounds fun!
Back home, Chris Cousins has rescued a 145 and a 146, David Taylor remembers his 156 fondly and Hugh Allan has bought the 916 GTV Cup he wanted while Mitch Barnes, the 916 Registrar, answers the AROC Lives questions.
John Griffiths does a Winter car wash with just one bucket and John Williams recaps on the November auction at Brooklands and looks forward to going to Ascot in early March. Angus Doe extols the virtues of both of his Giulias, dating from 1966 and 2017, and Paolo Farella and other members of the Thames Valley Section thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Jim Stokes’ workshop.
Our front cover shows Jamie and Isobel’s Stelvio getting down and dirty but you need to read Jamie’s article to see whether he approves of the new Alfa Romeo SUV!
