Southern Alfa Day @ Painshill Park, September 2013

Surrey
13 September 2013

What a great day! With 135 cars through the gates we were delighted with the turnout for this inaugural event. Not even a couple of heavy showers could dampen the spirits and plenty of attendees ventured out into the beautiful Painshill Park to explore the follies, grottos and lakes. The variety of cars on show was exceptional, from new MiTos and Giuliettas from local dealer, HWM, to an 8C, Suds, Alfettas, lots of 105-series cars, SZs and an RZ, Montreals and a 1900 Super Sprint.

Many congratulations to the winners of the fun concours, as follows:

Best Car of The Day: Robbie Webb, 1900 Super Sprint
Best Everyday Car: David Taylor, 916 GTV
Most Shades of Red: Roger Eke, 916 GTV
Best Non-Red Alfa: Simon Jeffs, AlfaSud Ti
Most Badges on an Alfa: Robin Rands, Alfetta GTV
There was also a lively prize draw based on ticket numbers. First prize was a £200 service voucher generously donated by Bianco Auto Developments, with further prizes offered by Classic Alfa.

AROC Surrey Section would like to thank everybody who came along to support the event and the members of the Goodwood, Central Sussex, Essex and Thames Valley sections who helped with the organisation and/or marshalling on the day, with a special mention for John Timms. Our thanks also go to our sponsors, HWM and Kinghams; Alex Jupe from Alex Jupe Motorsport for the display cars and concours judging; Gary Walker at Bianco and Classic Alfa for their support; Nick Wright and Ken Carrington. We’ll be back next year!
