Yorkshire Section

Some of the brave souls who toughed it out at Ripon
Report: Ripon Classic Car Gathering
The ever-popular Ripon Classic Car Gathering presented by The Ripon Old Cars Club, has been running for many years and has become established on the calendar. As per usual, we took part in this year's event which I'm afraid turned out to be a complete and utter washout! This was a great shame for the organisers and indeed for us as a Section as we had near enough a full house of exhibitors on our stand who all got absolutely drenched for their troubles!
Report: Our July Section meeting
Our Section's Annual General Meeting was held at our usual meeting place at The Bay Horse in Green Hammerton on July 17. The venue was packed and attracted a large number of cars including a Montreal.
Report: Breakfast meeting at The Waterwheel Tearooms
Our Section's Breakfast Meetings are always popular and very well-attended so we organised another one! The venue we chose this time round was and is pretty special.
Allan Marshall at The Humber Car Museum

Report: Visit to Humber Car Museum in Hull

Humber-lievable! This museum houses the world's largest and best preserved collection of these superb vehicles, enthusiast Allan Marshall having assembled and restored twenty-six Humbers, from Pullmans and Super Snipes to the more modern Sceptres and Imperials over many years. It's probably just as well that Allan keeps his collection in a remote location away from home as he's told his wife that he only has the six!

On show at NAD

Report: NAD at Weston Park

This year's National Alfa Day took place at Weston Park, Weston-under-Lizard near Shifnal in Staffordshire. A group of us ifrom the Yorkshire Section took the opportunity to stay overnight at The Ramada Hotel in Telford on the Saturday before the event. Once settled in, we enjoyed a great late afternoon and night in each other's company with the evening meal in the Hotel's dining room being a particular highlight. The food was spot-on and the wine was surprisingly good we found.

BTCC Round 5 at Croft Circuit
Report: Round 5 of The BTCC
Ever since it was announced that Alfa Romeo were making a comeback to the sport after many years absence, we Yorkshire members have been eagerly anticipating the chance to visit our local circuit once again to watch and support our Club-sponsored car in The British Touring Car Championship.
