ITCAM 3 at Newby Hall
Report: ITCAM: Sunday June 3

We presented our third Italian Car and Motorcycle Day at Newby Hall near Ripon in North Yorkshire on the first weekend in June. Despite a dodgy-looking and (as it proved) inaccurate weather forecast, cars, bikes and people turned up in their hundreds to enjoy a perfect family day out courtesy of the AROC Yorkshire Section. The 'promised' showers simply didn't arrive and we were left with a bright and warm day in which to enjoy our Italianate surroundings.

Section meeting report

The Bay Horse at Green Hammerton was once again the place to be for Yorkshire-based Alfisti. In a packed and very noisy function room, we welcomed new member Fraser from Northallerton, owner of a 916 GTV, and it was also nice to see long-time member Graham Brotherton back in attendance once again.

Spring Alfa Day gave us the chance to do what we love best; drive our Alfa Romeos in the spring sunshine! A group of us from the Yorkshire Section made a weekend of it and stayed overnight at the Huntingdon Premier Inn, where we were joined by Ian and family from Warrington in their lovely blue 164. Unfortunately for us though, the A1 is not the most inspiring of roads and we were glad that we had chosen to stay the night before the event.

Busso power at our Section Meeting April 17
Report: Our April meeting.

There was an excellent turn-out of Alfa Romeos of various vintages at our first joint meeting of this year with the AROC Lincolnshire Section at The Reindeer Inn at Sandtoft near Doncaster on April 17. Included were a couple of Giuliettas, a 'Sud Sprint, a 75, numerous examples of all series of Spiders, several GTV 916s, two 4Cs and a GTV Cup.

North Yorkshire Dales Tour
Report: Do you want a Flake with that?

Having seen the back of winter and with spring in the air, we had a North Yorkshire Dales Tour on Sunday April 8 to blow away those winter cobwebs. Imaginatively sub-titled ‘The Do You Want A Flake With That?’ Run, the tour started and finished at different Ice Cream Farms and covered 99 kilometres. We also stopped for Sunday Lunch along the way.

Report: Our March meeting

We had our monthly meeting at The Bay Horse Inn at Green Hammerton on March 20 where, among other things, we looked back on our visit to The Oil Can Cafe and looked forward to our forthcoming Yorkshire Dales Tour in early April. Despite the present flu' epidemic taking its toll, we still had over twenty local members present at a very convivial and vibrant meeting.
